Grey's Anatomy Spoilers: Izzie and Denny, Callie and ...
Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly has some interesting Grey's Anatomy spoilers in his Q&A today, and even a direct quote from Shonda Rhimes about the Izzie-Denny story line.
Read on and follow the jump for the latest on what's to come ...
Q: What the hell is going on with Grey's Anatomy's Denny and Izzie?
A: Don't be so quick to judge, people. Who among us hasn't gone to first base with a dead ex at least once in our lives? Exactly.
Q: Okay, I'm officially worried that Izzie really does have a brain tumor and Shonda Rhimes is paving the way for Katherine Heigl's departure at the end of the season.
A: Hold on ... I've got Shonda Rhimes on the line ... She says she heard through the grapevine that I've been flooded with hundreds of e-mails from mostly irate and confused Grey's Anatomy fans wondering WTF is going on with this bizarre love story between a dead Denny (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and an alive Izzie ... The show's creator and executive producer says she'd like to address readers directly via this exclusive statement ...
"I think that the love triangle with Denny, Izzie, and Alex is among the most interesting we've ever done. Watching the chemistry between Jeffrey and Katherine again has been really touching. I can't wait for our viewers to see where we're taking it. But what it won't involve is Izzie having a brain tumor."
Alright, so the brain tumor theory is out the window. What does that leave in the way of logical explanations?
Q: What's next for Callie (Sara Ramirez) on Grey's Anatomy now that Hahn's gone?
A: The official ABC logline for the December 4 episode, "All My Myself," includes this little morsel: "Callie can't figure out if Sadie is just friendly or flirtatious." Translation: Sadie is next for Callie.

I'm so confused. How can this be happening if she doesn't have a brain tumore. I'm glad that she doesn't, but it just doesn't make any sense. Oh well, I guess it's time to trust Shonda and wait and see where she leads us...
November 19th, 2008 8:07 AM
uh, ok...
they fired brooke allegedly for the gay thing and now they are possibly hooking callie up with sadie????
if people thought hahn and callie were awkward, this new sadie idiot will be way worse. (i like the actress, hate her character!! LOL)
November 19th, 2008 8:09 AM
How about Callie and Mark? No Callie and Sadie. That is just wrong.
November 19th, 2008 8:24 AM
Hmm... im kind of happy she doesnt have a tumor... cuz she wont die...(though it would have involved great acting...!) but now im all confused... right now the only explanation is that she IS dreaming...!... its weird... i hope Alex and Izzie dont break up!!!
waiting 4 thursday!!!!!
and... Callie and McSteamy should get together again!
November 19th, 2008 8:42 AM
I think she going to die. They're just not telling us right now because that would ruin the storyline. So what is Izzie going crazy?
November 19th, 2008 8:43 AM
Callie and McSteamy are HOT together! No to Callie and Sadie! I don't really enjoy Sadie's character at all. Maybe she will be kicked out of Seattle Grace for the rogue surgery on the other interns.

If you remember in season 2 when we were first introduced to Denny, Alex and Izzie were together. Denny was the one that broke them up, so it has been a triangle all along. He was the one that came between them then and now that she is with Alex again, he is back. That definitely means something. The only other person that Izzie has been with is George. That was something that both of them needed. He needed to move away from Callie, he never really loved her. She needed to forget about Denny and I think George helped her with that. He was her best friend and they got each other through a tough time. They loved each other very much, but the chemistry was not there for it to be romantic. Denny did not come around when Izzie was with George, he is in the middle of Izzie and Alex again. Big time!!! I believe Shonda when she says Izzie does not have a brain tumor. I think she has something else planned and it is going to bring Izzie and Alex together and make Alex really open up and let us know what is going on with him. We haven't even begun to hear Alex's story yet. Alex is the male version of Meredith, dark and twisty!!! I can't wait to watch!!

I don't think that her character being gay was why they fired Brooke Smith.....They said they didn't like where her character was going.....I don't see how they could have kept her character going, with her being so pissed off at the chief about the Denny thing, and her threatening to report the hospital to UNOS
November 19th, 2008 9:24 AM
I am totally confused about Izzie now. The brain tumor idea is the only one that made sense to me. I will not accept the mental health issues idea. I guess I'm tired of speculating now. And I do enjoy watching Denny and Izzie, so now I'm resolved to just sitting back and watching it unfold. OK, Shonda, bring it on...
As for Sadie and Callie. She only said that she couldn't figure out if Sadie is friendly or flirtatious. I think this will just be an example of Callie still trying to personally work through and figure out her brief relationship with Hahn and what it means about her sexual orientation. The info. has already be given that Sadie's character's plot got rewritten when Brooke Smith left, so I think what's going to come of it is nothing-- Sadie will really be just being friendly. But it will bring up the issue for Callie to work through more.
That's my take.
I really hope that's how it will go down.
November 19th, 2008 9:24 AM
I think it will wind up that it was really Alex with Izzie at the close of the last episode but she saw Denny instead. And because she saw Denny, the viewers saw Denny, too.
November 19th, 2008 9:47 AM
Okay, so Izzie won't have a brain tumor. However, she could very well be schizophrenic. That's a medical show, people! They've got to be realistic! And if Izzie isn't sick in any way, I hope this Denny crap will end soon. Izzie isn't the central character of the show, and Denny has died seasons ago, so enough is enough.
As for Sadie, she is an unlikeable character to me. And she is totally unnecessary to the show. She's bad for either Callie or Mark. Those two work nice together as friends, but I'm not sure if I'd like to see them as a couple. But it's high time they gave Mark a decent storyline!

I am going to trust Shonda with Izzie & Alex, don't let us down. I really would like to see some passion between Meredith and McDreamy. Not drama, passion! This season it's obvious they are together, but what about a romantic trip. Something! Please! An engagement would be great! As much as I love Christina, she should get a clue to give Mer & Der some space. Meredith should set her straight.
November 19th, 2008 10:33 AM
Okay I am as confused as everybody else, but I keep going back to the episode where Meredith almost died. Remember when she and Denny were sitting on the floor. Denny explains that she can't see Derek anymore. He talks about Mer in the bathtub, and says I wish I saw naked people. Then he says that sometimes you are just in the same place and you get a feeling. Then Meredith starts screaming later, that a "whiff" of Derek is not enough. So what's the deal with him being back. I think Shonda is trying to complete the triangle, but I'm still confused. In the end, I think Denny was brought back to solidify Alex and Izzie. To actually bring them together. Denny wants her to have her happy ending. To get married, have children, and be a surgeon, just as she would have if Denny would have been there forever.
November 19th, 2008 11:19 AM
I wish they'd get Mark and Callie together. They'd be cute :-/
Izzie might be a schizo. Just throwing that out there... Technically seeing and feeling Denny is sort of a hallucination, ya know? Or maybe he really is back, she's not mentally ill, and she's just a necrophiliac...

Okay now this fan thinks they should let.Denny die peacefuly.Instayed of draging this on and on.It"s time that Lzzie should move on in life.Fullfil it with Alex"s Or with George O mallay. As
as for.Callie and Erira"s they should play it out. This fan also thinks it"s time that Christina yang

Synospis for "All By Myself" - Cristina is awarded the first solo surgery among the residents, but must give it up and choose her replacement. Meanwhile Mark performs a cutting edge procedure to restore a patient's ability to speak -- and impresses Lexie in the process -- and Callie can't figure out if Sadie is just friendly or flirtatious.
November 19th, 2008 11:27 AM
OK so I am so tired of the Gizzie haters saying Gizzie had no romantic chemistry. That is your opinion and a lot of people disagree. Gizzie had and still has a huge fanbase who think they have amazing chemistry and always will, and a lot of us happen to think Alex and Izzie have zero chemistry at all. Nothing Shonda says or do will convince me Gizzie weren't in love.
I want Callie with Mark and George with either Izzie or Lexie.
November 19th, 2008 11:28 AM
Why did Sadie get paired with Callie instead of Hahn? Simple, she is hotter. same reason why some shallow critics were so against Gizzie, the best couple in the world, and root for Alex and Izzie, even though they don't have the tenth of their romantic chemistry.

All My Children's Lesbians Cuter than Grey's Anatomy's, Says ABC Daytime President
ABC Daytime President Brian Frons threw down the gauntlet claiming that All My Children’s lesbians are cuter than Grey’s Anatomy’s.
During a lunchtime interview at Madeo in West Hollywood earlier this month Frons extolled the virtues of AMC’s lesbian storyline, which this year features the show’s on again / off again resident lesbian Eden Riegel’s Bianca and her new love, Tamara Braun’s Reese, in a committed, often passionate relationship.
“Our lesbians are cuter,” Frons said when an interviewer mentioned that while AMC’s lesbian storyline is blossoming, Grey’s Anatomy’s was axed.
“That’s being phased out,” Frons said, adding that he doesn’t have the scoop on the demise of Grey’s gay girl story line between Sara Ramirez’s Callie and Brooke Smith’s Erica.
But Frons touted AMC as a pioneer in spearheading and sticking with a well drawn lesbian character.
The Emmy winning actress Riegel plays Bianca, he said. “She came out on air playing Susan Lucci’s daughter. My God. The great Erica Kane has a lesbian daughter," Frons said. "Fabulous. Daytime’s all-time femme fatale’s daughter likes girls."
The president of ABC Daytime then told an anecdote about a family dinner during which his cousin bemoaned Bianca’s former status as a single lesbian woman whose baby had been stolen. He said he pointed out to his cousin that while America was debating gay marriage, she just wanted Bianca to be happy, to which his cousin replied. “Bianca has transcended her sexuality and deserves her baby and deserves love.”
Making Bianca a lovable character whom fans care about has helped keep the gay storyline in play, Frons suggested.
“When you can humanize someone and make something not an issue but an emotional journey that’s good,” Frons said. “That’s a good soap opera. That’s particularly All My Children.”

More Mark and Lexie! Can't wait!Lexie is better with Mark than Callie-they already had a sort of relationship, and I like them more as friends.I don't like Sadie at all...
November 19th, 2008 11:42 AM
Mark and Lexie make me sick, he could be her dad. I want Mark and Callie and George and Lexie would be so cute.
Yeah George and Izzie had the best romantic chemistry on TV so speak for yourself.
I wrote many letters asking what is going on with George and no answer. Something fishy here. Didn't the mods here say they would address the lack of George and how his friendship with Izzie vanished. Why haven't they? Do you guys know something you are hiding from us?
November 19th, 2008 11:42 AM
I WANT GEORGE AND I WANT HIM THERE FOR IZZIE.
November 19th, 2008 11:43 AM
I forgot to add Mark and Lexie are so much like incest, it is gross.
November 19th, 2008 12:18 PM
I am a Gizzie fan too and I do wish people would write IMHO and not state things like facts. Chemistry is subjective and I thought they had a million times more chemistry than AI.
I don't like Mark and Lexie either. No chemistry there IMO.
I really miss George and I find it funny not one critic is addressing his absence.
November 19th, 2008 12:43 PM
I'm tired of this. I've been watching this show, loving this show, immersing myself in this show, for what? Sex with dead people. Great. I was disappointed Izzie didn't have a brain tumor because now I can't think of one logical explanation for Denny. I want to watch a drama, not a sci-fi.
November 19th, 2008 12:50 PM
there is such a thing as post traumatic stress disorder but shouldn't that have already happened..not basically 2 years down the line?? I think she is still very sick in someway and Shonda isn't telling us the whole truth. Everyone know's it is not like Shonda to say..oh yes I am doing this and I'm doing that.
